Aboriginal Art

Having been inspired by Aboriginal Art, I set myself the task of creating a piece using french knots, to imitate this style of art. This was an extremely time consuming process but I really do feel that the outcome has been worth it. I don't think the true tactile nature of the piece shows in photographs because french knots produce a texture which feels especially pleasant when handled.

Following on from what I did at university, I have also looked at the back of the piece. I obviously didn't sew in order for the back to be seen, however I think it has it's own aesthetic qualities. Seeing the back of the piece has inspired me to create pieces with these qualities in the future.
