Handmade Christmas

This year I decided to make my own Christmas presents for friends. This idea originally stemmed from my recent discovery and love of blackwork embroidery. I wanted to share the technique and give myself an opportunity to do more of it with the result being gifted rather than shut away in a drawer.

I wanted a basic outline idea to use on each embroidery, and decided to use the initial of each persons name as this seemed like something that I felt everyone would like and appreciate.

I also embroidered a cross stitch for another Christmas present, this one is of a blooming nasturtium. I enjoyed the process of doing this, as it was a fairly quick process therefore I felt accomplished when I completed it.
