Knitted Owl and Teddy

The two knitted pieces in this post were both made as presents, I love seeing the reaction on the faces of my loved ones when they receive a gift that has been handmade.
First of all I have a knitted owl for which I found the pattern online, here, it was easier than I had anticipated and I am very pleased with the outcome.

The next piece of knitting is a little teddy, the pattern for this was taken from the book '20 To Make: Knitted Bears' by Val Pierce. I really liked the idea of the book, it begins with the basic pattern for the knitted bear, and throughout the book it gives you patterns for various outfits that the bear can be dressed in. As I was making this for my mum, I decided to make a jumper and dungarees to dress the bear in, as this reminds me of my childhood.
The patterns are very easy to follow and don't involve complex knitting, the part that I find the most difficult is putting the bear together once it has all been knitted, getting things level and in the correct place for example. I also realise that the head looks a little too small, and I think this is either because I have overstuffed the body or not stuffed the head enough.
I intend to make more of these in the future to help improve my skills in sewing together my knitted pieces.

Thanks for reading.
