Amsterdam

Back in February I spent a few days in Amsterdam with a very good friend of mine. I have been to the Netherlands before, and according to my parents I have actually been to Amsterdam before, however this was before I can remember, therefore another visit was very much overdue! 

We took in as many of the sights an attractions as our time would allow, these included, Anne Franks House, Van Gogh Musuem, Stedelijk Museum, Royal Artis Zoo and a canal cruise. But of course my highlight was the chips and chip sauce, which takes me back to when I was in Holland over ten years ago. I was very much inspired by the architecture of the city with the crooked houses caused by unstable ground and also the extravagance of the buildings surrounding Dam Square. I have put together a photo album/sketchbook from my trip and the imagery below shows some of the pieces I have created using Amsterdam as my main inspiration.
