As mentioned in my last post I did a road trip from Sydney to Cairns, but the ultimate goal was to revisit Port Douglas. I stayed there for a few days last time I went to Australia in 2014, and wanted to spend more time there and explore the area more.
Whilst in Port Douglas I stayed at the Garrick House Holiday Apartments, they were just across the road from Four Mile Beach and only a few minutes walk from the centre, and about 15 minute walk from the marina.
I was lucky enough to go to the Great Barrier Reef again using the company, Calypso Reef Cruises, but this time I was able to hire an underwater camera, to capture my own images of the reef.
I also did a day trip to Kuranda, 'The Village in the Rainforest', I went up using the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway and my return trip was made on the Kuranda Scenic Railway, I would recommend using these methods as you get such amazing scenic views of the rainforest and also overlooking Cairns and the surrounding areas. Kuranda itself was an amazing place to explore with all the eaterys and the markets selling traditional Australian souvenirs.

The rest of my time in Port Douglas was spent wandering around on foot and also by boat! I did the Lady Douglas River Cruise which takes you up through the mangrove channels of the Dickson Inlet, looking for wildlife, in particular, crocodiles. We were able to see a few small crocs during our cruise which made the trip well worth while.
